2022 Fantasy Outlook
A seventh-round pick in 2020 who didn't see the field at all in his first NFL season, Benjamin finally got some snaps last year, although he didn't do a whole lot with them and didn't see double-digit touches in a game until Week 18. The Arizona State product runs with decent power, balance and elusiveness despite a less than smooth running style, traits that earned him a spot as a kick returner, and he flashed the skills to be a passing-down option in college. James Conner seems locked atop the Cardinals' depth chart after his big 2021, but his track record hints that he'll end up missing some games if asked to handle a large workload. With Chase Edmonds now in Miami, that could eventually open the door for Benjamin to take on a more significant role, although the team brought in former Kansas City backup Darrel Williams and drafted Keaontay Ingram in the sixth round to compete for the No. 2 spot. RANKS

Finishes 2022 in fringe role
Benjamin had two rushes for three yards during Sunday's 10-7 loss against Carolina. Over 15 games between Arizona, Houston and New Orleans in 2022, he recorded 73 rushing attempts for 313 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 25 receptions (34 targets) for 193 yards
ANALYSIS
Benjamin finished the season in a reserve role alongside David Johnson, as both backs joined New Orleans when No. 2 running back Mark Ingram went down with a season-ending knee injury in early December. Benjamin ultimately had a slightly smaller workload compared to the 31-year-old Johnson, though neither saw any significant action with Alvin Kamara and do-it-all tight end Taysom Hill shouldering the Saints' rushing duties over the final four games. Instead, the vast majority of the 23-year-old's production came over 10 games with the Cardinals this season before he was waived by the team Nov. 14. Benjamin also never carved out a significant role on special teams following his departure from Arizona. He will now enter the final year of his rookie contract during the 2023 season.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Despite a productive career at Arizona State, Benjamin tumbled to the seventh round of this year's draft, in part due to a herky-jerky running style more reminiscent of a boxer bobbling and weaving to avoid jabs - or maybe Jackie Chan's fighting style from his classic "Drunken Master" series - than a football player trying to avoid tackles. It was mostly effective in college, though he posted better numbers in 2018 than in 2019. Benjamin offers more than just unpredictable elusiveness, though. At 5-9, 207, he has the balance and power to finish plays with positive yards even after being caught, and the receiving ability to be a three-down option in the NFL if he ever figures out the rushing aspect. Coach Kliff Kingsbury's spread-out offense should be a good fit for Benjamin, and if Kenyan Drake doesn't hold up as the starter for the Cardinals, the rookie could split work with Chase Edmonds.
