2022 Fantasy Outlook
Cole produced a promising 55/642/5 receiving stat line during his final season as a Jaguar in 2020, but his production dipped last year with the Jets as he caught just 28 passes on 51 targets for 449 yards and a touchdown in 15 contests. The 29-year-old was let go by the Raiders in late August. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS

Career-low 10 receptions with LV
Cole caught one of two targets for five yards in the Raiders' regular-season finale, finishing his 2022 campaign with 10 receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown on 21 targets in 14 games.
ANALYSIS
Cole reverted to a bench role late in the season upon fellow slot man Hunter Renfrow's return from injured reserve, and the former caught just four total passes for 44 yards across Weeks 10-14 despite logging at least 29 offensive snaps in each contest during that stretch. Cole will turn 30 years old this offseason as he hits free agency, so there's certainly no guarantee that he'll be back with the Raiders in 2023.

Jerry Donabedian hands out awards, checks in on offseason injury rehabs and looks ahead to a weak class of WR free agents

James Cook got more snaps and carries than Devin Singletary even with the Bills playing their starters for the entire game Sunday.

Jerry Donabedian thinks K.J. Osborn's impressive performance could lead to more targets over the final three weeks of the season.

Cole is a safe bet to secure a roster spot after signing a one-year, $5.5 million contract with the Jets, but he's unlikely to see the field much barring injuries ahead of him on the depth chart. New York also signed Corey Davis and drafted Elijah Moore in the second round to pair with 2020 second-rounder Denzel Mims and incumbent slot man Jamison Crowder. Cole's best chance at playing time besides injuries would be beating out Mims and Moore, but the rebuilding Jets will likely prioritize the youngsters, so the former Jaguar will be hard-pressed to reach last year's totals of 55 catches, 642 yards and five touchdowns.
