Not assured roster spot
WRTennessee Titans
July 11, 2024
Philips is expected to enter training camp fighting for a roster spot, John Glennon of the Nashville Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Philips, a 2022 fifth-round pick, secured 15 of 22 targets for 181 yards across nine appearances last season, and he never managed to play more than 50 percent of offensive snaps. With Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd joining DeAndre Hopkins atop the depth chart, and 2022 first-round pick Treylon Burks still vying for opportunities, Phillips finds himself competing for limited reserve roles, and rookie sixth-round pick Jha'Quan Jackson also projects as a slot option and return man.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Philips was a fifth-round selection in the 2022 draft and fit as a potential slot receiver standing at 5-11 and 189 pounds. He gained some helium after showing chemistry with Ryan Tannehill during training camp and tallying six catches in Week 1 against the Giants. From there, he was derailed by shoulder and hamstring injuries that limited his ability to make an impact for the rest of the campaign. Entering 2023, he should have the chance to occupy the slot role once again assuming he can stay on the field, with Treylon Burks and DeAndre Hopkins likely the team's top outside receivers.
The Titans spent a fifth-round pick on Philips in the 2022 NFL Draft and measurables such as the 5-11, 189-pounder's 4.58 40-yard mark could make him easy to dismiss. However, a deeper dive provides at least some intrigue, as Phillips was a four-star and top-300 recruit nationally in 2018. At UCLA, he logged a 92nd percentile target share while working out of the slot, and also regularly returned punts. The latter could be his immediate role during his rookie season, and Philips could see snaps in the slot if Nick Westbrook-Ikhine fails to take hold of the team's third receiver role

Facing competition to make team
WRTennessee Titans
July 12, 2024
Philips finds himself on the roster bubble heading into 2024, per John Glennon of the Nashville Post.
ANALYSIS
Philips has been limited to 13 regular-season appearances and 23 catches in two seasons since being selected with a fifth-round pick in 2022, as he has been slowed by injuries. The Titans signed veteran slot receiver Tyler Boyd in free agency and drafted Jha'Quan Jackson in the fifth round in 2024, leaving Philips' skill set redundant. If Philips gets leapfrogged by Jackson on the depth chart, Philips would have a hard time making the 53-man roster.
