2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Commanders traded for Tunsil this offseason, shoring up a left-tackle spot that was the glaring weakness of their offensive line last year. He's a five-time Pro Bowler who made 44 starts in three years with Miami and 81 starts in six years with the Texans, although it's possible his best days are behind him as he approaches his 31st birthday in August. Tunsil signed a new three-year deal that includes $50 million in guaranteed money during the offseason. The three-time Pro Bowler will resume his role as Houston's starting left tackle.
Tunsil was traded by the Dolphins to the Texans on the weekend following the final preseason game and will slot into Houston's starting left tackle spot.
Last year was Tunsil's first at the left guard position, and some difficulties adjusting were evident. The 24-year-old became a solid pass blocker by the end of the season, but his run blocking remained an issue. Tunsil is locked in as a starter in 2018 barring injury, it only remains to be seen whether he can progress in his second year as a left guard.

No extension talks
OTWashington Commanders
March 31, 2025
Tunsil hasn't had any discussions with the Commanders about a new contract, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Acquired from the Texans in an early March trade, Tunsil has two years left on his current contract with cap hits of $21.35 million each season. There's no guaranteed money left on the deal after 2025, so an extension might make sense for both sides. Washington may want to see the 30-year-old left tackle on the field before committing to him beyond his present deal, however.
