Cine suffered a compound fracture in his left leg during a Week 4 matchup with the Saints in London, which kept him on the sideline for the rest of his rookie season. Prior to the injury, the 2022 first-round pick managed just two snaps on defense without a tackle in three games. Fortunately for Cine, he's progressed to running at full speed, with the expectation that he'll be ready by Week 1 of the coming campaign. In the end, though, he'll have to pass up Camryn Bynum, a 17-game starter last year, for a starting role next to veteran safety Harrison Smith.
Selected by the Vikings with 32nd pick of the 2022 Draft, Cine is expected to start immediately next to Harrison Smith in the Minnesota secondary. Cine is slender for a safety at 6-foot-2, 199 pounds, but he could put on some weight, and his 4.37 time in the 40-yard dash displays that he can sacrifice some speed to do so. He's also explosive, pairing the 40 time with a 133-inch broad jump, and his pursuit and tackling skill set will allow him to work underneath.
