2022 Fantasy Outlook
Okwara racked up just one sack over four games in 2021 before going down for the year with a torn Achilles. While he is not expected to be back in the pass-rush rotation until midseason, Okwara should immensely benefit from returning to his natural spot at defensive end after playing at outside linebacker in Detroit's old 3-4 defensive scheme. RANKS

Records two sacks in 2022
Okwara recorded eight tackles and two sacks over five games in 2022.
ANALYSIS
After tearing his Achilles just four weeks into the three-year, $37 million contract Okwara signed in 2021, the Notre Dame product didn't return until Week 14 of the 2022 campaign, only making a difference during a two-sack performance against the Jets in Week 15. With the Lions able to save over $7 million against the salary cap by potentially letting him go this offseason, Okwara is not certain to return to Detroit in 2023.

Getting rewarded with a three-year, $13 million deal in free agency after posting 10 sacks in 2020, Okwara is set to move to outside linebacker in Detroit's new 3-4 alignment. How this might impact his output remains to be seen, but it's not out of the question that Okwara could see less snaps as a pure pass-rusher.
