Tony Jones

26-Year-Old Running BackRB
Arizona Cardinals
2023 Fantasy Outlook
After playing in both New Orleans and Seattle in 2022, the Broncos signed Jones to a one-year deal this offseason. The 25-year-old played in six games last season, rushing just 10 times for 24 yards and reeling in five catches for 30 yards. Jones will be reunited with Denver's new head coach Sean Payton, who he played under while both were with the Saints. The 5-11, 224-pounder slots in as a depth option in the running back room behind both Javonte Williams and Samaje Perine, but Jones' familiarity with the offensive system should help him to carve out a third-string role with his new team. Jones was cut by the Broncos at the end of training camp and signed to the Saints practice squad. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
Davis is a four-year NFL veteran who has seen action with three different teams, including two stints with New Orleans, over the past two campaigns. He played a prominent role in Weeks 2 and 3 with the Saints this season, tallying 65 yards and two touchdowns on 20 rushes along with 21 yards on four receptions, but he was released two weeks later. Jones subsequently signed with Arizona and spent much of the remainder of the campaign on the practice squad but did see action in three games, carrying five times for 25 yards and adding three catches for 16 yards. He'll have a chance to complete for a spot on the team's roster during training camp this summer.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
Jones will enter the 2022 campaign competing for the backup running back role behind starter Alvin Kamara. However, with Mark Ingram still under contract, it's likely that Jones will have to beat out the veteran for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart. The 24-year-old totaled 52 carries for 142 yards and five catches for 29 yards in 11 games during the 2021 season. If Ingram can't hold up at age 32, Jones has a shot to see an increased role this coming season behind Kamara.
Jones, a 2020 UDFA out of Notre Dame, spent most of his rookie season on the Saints' practice squad and now hopes to win a roster spot in Year 2. Reports out of camp suggest he made a strong bid, perhaps even unseating Latavius Murray in the No. 2 role.
