2025 Fantasy Outlook
It was going to be difficult for Putnam to match a strong 2023 in which he nearly qualified for the Tour Championship, but he missed the playoffs entirely as he only posted a pair of top-10s which both came before April. The veteran ranked second-to-last on Tour in driving distance, which certainly limits his upside and puts him at a significant disadvantage at a lot of venues. With that said, he's above average in every other area and one of the best bunker players on Tour. Putnam also plays a busy schedule, having teed-it-up in 60 tournaments across the last two seasons. Leads in SG: Putting in Detroit
Putnam recorded a two-under 70 on Sunday at the Rocket Classic to finish in a share of eighth place.
ANALYSIS
Putnam held a share of the 36-hole lead following rounds of 64-66, but he cooled off over the weekend with only seven birdies and had to settle for the top-10 result. In his usual form he was led by his short game, where he ranked second in SG: Around-the-green and led the field in putting for the tournament. Putnam has posted just two top-10s this season, with both of them coming in his last two events.

What a life to be a golfer on the PGA Tour. Putnam recorded one top-3 this past year, yet managed to earn almost $4.5 million this past season. Putnam reached that number by being extremely consistent. He recorded six top-10s and made over 75% of his cuts. Most of his top-10s were at elevated events, which never hurts. Though Putnam has proven to be a fairly reliable golfer, his number is set a bit too high for salary cap purposes this next season. As such, proceed with caution in salary cap leagues. In all other leagues, he's a nice player to have because he plays a lot and makes a lot of cuts.
