2025 Fantasy Outlook
Eckroat had quite an interesting start to his PGA Tour career in 2023. He missed a bunch of cuts, but then got hot for a stretch and secured his card for 2024. Entering this past season his inconsistency was a bit worrisome, but he improved his cuts made percentage went from just under 60% in 2023 to just under 80% in 2024. He also happened upon his first PGA Tour win early in 2024 before notching another one in the fall. The result was nearly a $2.5 million improvement in earnings and what looks to be a solid foundation to a long career. The question entering this season is, can he continue this upward trend? It's certainly possible, after all, he ranked 129th in SG: Putting this past season, so even though he overperformed on most ball-striking metrics, there's still room to improve on the greens. Top-12 finish in Napa
Eckroat carded a final round one-under 71 Sunday at the Procore Championship to finish in a share of 11th place.
ANALYSIS
Eckroat was consistent all week shooting under par in all four rounds, but it was his driving that really dictated whether he had the opportunity to score. In both the first and the third rounds, Eckroat ranked first and in a tie for forth in SG: Off the Tee, gaining on average 1.52 strokes on the field, while shooting a combined eight-under par. Compare that to the second and final rounds, where Eckroat ranked 71st and 54th in SG: Off the Tee, losing nearly a half a stroke to the field and shooting a combined three-under par. While Eckroat seemed to be hot and cold off the tee, he still was able to grind out a top-12 finish to start his fall season off on the right foot.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2023
Eckroat was one of the marquee rookies on Tour last season following a storied amateur career, and he showed flashes with a runner-up and four top-10 finishes. He also dealt with inconsistency with 17 cuts made and 15 missed cuts. His ball-striking ability shows signs of promise as he was 34th in strokes-gained off-the-tee and also gained shots on approach. A top-10 at the U.S. Open shows that his game holds up against difficult setups and tough competition, but the lack of an elite skill currently leaves the question of if he'll be able to take a major step forward in his sophomore campaign.
