Brice Garnett

Brice Garnett

41-Year-Old Golfer

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Garnett only had conditional PGA Tour status following a poor 2023 campaign and played his first three events of 2024 on the Korn Ferry Tour, and then the 41-year-old went out and won the alternate event Puerto Rico Open to secure his status through 2026. He failed to post another top-10 the rest of the year, however, and finished with just three top-25s across 17 starts. Garnett ranked 173rd on Tour in driving distance and when you combine that with poor putting, you don't have a recipe to contend often. Read Past Outlooks
Over-par in final round
April 23, 2024
Garnett shot an over-par 72 on Sunday at the RBC Heritage to tie for 18th place at the event.
ANALYSIS
Garnett had his worst round of the event Sunday falling six spots on the leaderboard as he shot four bogeys and a double bogey compared to just five birdies. Garnett struggled with his driver at the event, but was top-25 in SG: Approach-to-green, SG: Around-the-green and SG: Putting while posting his second top-20 finish in his last four events. Garnett is in the field for this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans, partnering Sepp Straka.

Since coming onto the Tour in 2014, Garnett has finished between 100th and 175th in earnings in all but one year. This past year was no different, as the 9-year veteran finished 147th on the money list. He was relatively inefficient on a per-event basis and earned just over $500k in 29 total starts. His best 2022 finish was T15 at the Byron Nelson, and he made 45 percent of his cuts on the season. Garnett won’t be on most fantasy radars heading into the 2023 season.
Garnett was able to make his final four regular season starts which ended up being just enough to keep his card for this season. He was also able to record a pair of top-5s in a season for the first time in his career. Still, it's hard to get overly excited about Garnett - he relies on accurate driving and quality putting but the other areas of his game are lacking significantly. He's going to be on the bubble to make the playoffs at best on a yearly basis.
Garnett does have one PGA Tour victory to his name in an opposite-field event, but he's failed to do much over the last couple of seasons to expect a much better season in 2020-21. At 36, Garnett seems to be past his prime and is best suited to attack events that don't play particularly long and have below-average fields. With more missed cuts than made ones this year, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him on the borderline of making the playoffs and possibly have to head to the Korn Ferry Tour Finals next August.
Garnett has spent four full seasons on the PGA Tour with mixed results. His two best seasons have come in the past two years, but he doesn't appear to have that extra gear that will allow for a big jump in production. At 35 years-old, he can certainly maintain his current level for a while, but his upside is likely limited. As such, he's not a good option in salary cap leagues this season.
Garnett struggled in his first stint on the PGA Tour, twice failing to stay within the top-125 by season's end, but he found some footing last season, thanks in large part to a win at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. That win however saved what was an otherwise subpar season. Garnett posted only two top-10s in 30 starts last season and he missed 10 cuts. Garnett will turn 36 this season and while that's not normally an age where one's skills would regress, it is odd that it took this long for Garnett to find his game. With that in mind, he's not a good salary cap option this season.
Garnett, who finished first on the Web.com's regular season money list during his bounceback 2017 campaign, once again earns a PGA Tour card after appearing in 72 events from 2014-2016. His most recent season was highlighted by a pair of wins at the Web.com's Utah Championship in July and WinCo Foods Portland Open just over a month later. He also posted eight additional top-25s, but occasionnaly struggled with consistency as he missed 10 cuts in 23 events. Garnett has a chance to surpass his career-best finish of 117th in the FedExCup standings throughout the upcoming season, but he'll need to make short-game improvements after ranking 110th in scrambling on the Web.com Tour.
