2022–23 Fantasy Outlook
Hadley had an excellent run to end the summer of 2022, making six of his final nine cuts and finishing in the top 10 four times over that period. That said, he struggled for much of the earlier portion of the season, which is why he finds himself sitting here at 113 on the money list. Accordingly, the 35-year-old Tour veteran will look to maintain the form he found in June and July throughout the offseason and aim to start off on the right foot in 2023. Read Past Outlooks
Has best performance Sunday
November 20, 2023
Hadley finished his fourth round of the RSM Classic with a six-under 64 and placed tied for 38th in the field.
ANALYSIS
Hadley had a rough start to the tournament when he finished the first round with a one-plus 71, including two bogeys and a double bogey on the back nine. He bounced back from that performance and didn't score a single bogey over the next three rounds. His final round catapulted him up 27 spots at the RSM Classic and he went up two places to 106th in the FedExCup Standings.

Hadley's final round 62 in the last regular season event was enough to make him the 125th ranked player in the regular season standings as he retained his status for another year. He nearly picked up his second Tour victory at the Palmetto Championship, but he was unable to convert a four-stroke lead after 54-holes. Considering Hadley lost strokes in every category except for putting last season, he'll likely struggle to keep his card this season.
Hadley missed the playoffs last season with a best finish of only 17th. He also missed seven cuts in his 19 starts. Hadley actually was 10th on Tour in birdie average, but his short game really let him last season and led to a lot of bogeys. His ball striking is good enough to be competitive if he can improve that scrambling percentage.
Hadley has played well in four of his five full seasons on the PGA Tour. His 2018 season was easily his best as he carded seven top-10s and earned over $2.7 million. Though he played well enough to slip comfortably inside the top-125 last season, he didn't exactly build on the momentum from the previous season. Hadley is an intriguing salary cap option this season as he's pretty reliable when he plays a full schedule and he does have much more upside than he showed last season.
Hadley got off to a nice start on the PGA Tour as a rookie in 2014 as he picked-up a victory in his first season and earned over $1.7 million by season's end. His Sophomore campaign wasn't quite as productive, but he managed to stay within the top-100 on the FedEx points list, but when the pressure was back on, in his third season, while playing for his card again, he fell flat, making under $600k for the season. He worked his way back onto the PGA Tour just two years later and had his best season yet. That season was the 2-17-2018 season where he posted a runner-up and 3rd-place finish and a total of seven top-10s. There's nothing negative to say about his performance last season, but he does have a track record of coming back to Earth after a solid season. With that in mind, he carries too much risk as a salary cap option this season.
Hadley, who won the PGA Tour's 2014 Puerto Rico Open, racked up $2.8M in earnings through two seasons before losing his card after a 2015-16 campaign in which he finished 159th in the FedExCup standings. He'll be back to full status during the 2017-18 season, however, as two victories in his last six starts on the Web.com Tour have secured his card once again. Hadley also appeared in eight PGA Tour events throughout the 2016-17 season, notably placing top-30 in back-to-back starts at the John Deere Classic and Barbasol Championship.
Not a bad start to a PGA Tour career. Just over $1.7 million in earnings, a spot in the top-60 on the money list and a victory at the Puerto Rico Open. That's the good news, the bad news is, he was incredibly erratic last year. That and his win did come against a pretty weak field. With that said, he did finish strong against the best players on the PGA Tour, so there's hope that he can build off his fantastic rookie season. There is the sophomore jinx to consider as well, which isn't exactly a jinx, it's just a bit of reality setting in. Most guys who play well during their rookie season come back to earth, at least a bit during their second season. As such, he's not a great salary cap option this year, but should be given some consideration. In draft leagues he should go in the 6th or 7th round.
Hadley scored three top-3s on Web.com Tour last season but still needed The Finals to secure his card for 2013-14.
