2025 Fantasy Outlook
Yu started the 2024 strong with top-10s in two of his first three starts of the season and he managed another top-10 in February, but after that, it was a long stretch of nothing until October. That's when his fortunes really turned around. Yu picked up his first PGA Tour win at the Sanderson Farms Championship in early October and in doing so, he retained his playing privileges for the upcoming season. Yu was decent as a rookie in 2023, landing just inside the top-100 at the end of the year, and he's again inside the top-100 thanks to his win in October. That being said, he's simply living too dangerously at this point to be trusted. Yu fired a four-under 68 on Sunday at The Genesis Invitational to finish three-under and tied for 17th.
ANALYSIS
Yu hit 15 of 18 greens in regulation while gaining 2.2 strokes with his irons during Sunday's final round at Torrey Pines, where he ultimately finished T9 in total birdies throughout the week with 16 tweeters. He's now placed top-20 in back-to-back starts at the WMPO and The Genesis ahead of this week's Mexico Open at VidantaWorld, landing in the No. 64 spot of the early FedExCup standings.

Yu's stock is definitely on the rise, despite the usual inconsistency pros make during the first full year on Tour. Although he suffered through 19 missed cuts in his rookie season, he had some excellent finishes along the way, including a sixth-place finish at the John Deere Classic. The ASU product excelled in several statistical categories, most notably ranking sixth in SG: Off-the-Tee and a GIR of 72.4%, good enough for fourth place on Tour.
Yu ranked second on the Korn Ferry Tour in total driving throughout the 2022 season, earning his first PGA Tour card after finishing 20th on the KFT's regular season points list. The 24-year-old ASU product placed runner-up at May's Simmons Bank Open and he added another second-place effort again in July at the Price Cutter Charity Championship. He also appeared in six PGA Tour events this past season, notably tying for seventh at the Puerto Rico Open where he tallied 15 birdies and two eagles.
