2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Stinger GC captain was a model of consistency during the 2024 LIV Golf season. While he failed to capture his first-career LIV Golf individual trophy, he managed to finish sixth in the individual standings with 129.10 points thanks to seven top-10 finishes (including runner-up finishes in Jeddah and Adelaide). Oosthuizen was one of the most accurate golfers in the LIV Golf league, finishing second in both scrambling and putting average, while also finishing fourth and ninth in driving accuracy and birdies per round, respectively. Oosthuizen’s only major appearance in 2024 was the Open Championship, which he earned an exemption for thanks to his victory in 2010, though he failed to make the cut after scoring a 78-72 over the first two rounds. Finds water in playoff hole
Oosthuizen carded a four-under 68 in the final round at LIV Golf Dallas and finished tied with Paul Casey and Jinichiro Kozuma for second after falling to Patrick Reed in a one-hole playoff.
ANALYSIS
While most of the field floundered on Championship Sunday, Oosthuizen was able to tame the tough Maridoe Golf Club and used back-to-back birdies on the first and second holes to sneak into a four-man playoff. His tee shot found the water, but his penalty shot made it to the green, and he would have had a good chance at a par putt were it not for Reed sinking the tournament-clinching birdie putt. It was Oosthuizen's first podium finish of the season, and he now sits 19th in the LIV Golf individual season standings with 45.13 points. He's in the field for LIV Golf Andalucia in two weeks, where he finished T4 in 2024.
