McCarty managed to break 70 in just one of his four rounds at Kapalua, averaging only four birdies per round while much of the field took advantage of easy scoring chances in bunches. Nonetheless, McCarty ranked T7 among his peers in driving accuracy and T24 in scrambling, but he lost 5.585 strokes on his approach shots. The 27-year-old is now slated to make his Sony Open in Hawaii debut at Waialae Country Club this week.
