2025 Fantasy Outlook
It was a bit of a quiet season by Cantlay standards in 2024. Not only did he go another year without winning, but he also only had four top-10s, his fewest in a season since the 2019-20 campaign. He made over $6 million in 2024 because all four of those top-10s were actually top-five finishes and they came in three Signature Events and the U.S. Open. Cantlay had ranked top-10 in SG: Total in five straight seasons before falling all the way to 38th in 2024, his worst mark as a full-time PGA Tour member. Cantlay was always known as having a pretty balanced game, but he just didn't have the ball-striking where it needed to be this past year ranking 61st in SG: Off-the-Tee, 102nd in SG: Approach and 171st in GIR percentage. You would expect Cantlay to turn things around in 2025 and get back to the strong form he showed the previous five years. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
Cantlay ranked 13th or better among the field at Caves Valley in SG: Off-the-Tee, driving distance and SG: Putting, but he lost 3.5 strokes with his irons and another 3.2 strokes around the green. Despite having a down year by his standards, Cantlay advances to East Lake at No. 20 in the FedExCup standings.

Cantlay did practically everything but win last season. He posted eight top-five finishes and only missed two cuts in 21 starts. Cantlay was third in SG: Total behind the best ball-striking season of his career. The difference in not winning was likely due to finishing 57th in SG: Around-the-Green and 41st in SG: Putting. However, given his excellent ball-striking, these rankings are relatively decent. Should Cantlay regain his form as one of the PGA Tour's top putters in 2024, alongside his current ball-striking ability, he could begin amassing victories and potentially vie for the highest spot in earnings.
