Easton Cowan

20-Year-Old Right WingRW
2025 Fantasy Outlook
After setting a career high with 96 points across 54 regular-season appearances with OHL London in 2023-24, Cowan wasn’t quite as big of a factor offensively last year, supplying 29 goals and 69 points in 46 regular-season outings with London. However, he stepped up in the postseason with 16 goals and 46 points in 22 games to help the Knights win the Memorial Cup as well as their second consecutive OHL championship. Now 20 years old, Cowan is going to get a long look during the Maple Leafs’ training camp, but it will be tough for him to crack the Opening Night roster. However, even if he fails to start with the Leafs, Cowan’s a great prospect and might be among the first forwards summoned from the AHL in the event of an injury. Read Past Outlooks

He will attempt to earn an NHL roster spot with the Maple Leafs out of training camp but might spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

RWToronto Maple Leafs  Minors
December 20, 2023
The Maple Leafs aren't interested in including Cowan in any potential trade, according to Anthony Di Marco of The Fourth Period.
ANALYSIS
Cowan was selected by the Maple Leafs with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old has 12 goals, 39 points and 35 PIM in 23 contests with OHL London this season. The Maple Leafs are in win-now mode and would likely be open to trading prospects for immediate help, but it seems there are limits to how much of their future they're willing to sacrifice.
