Ilya Sorokin Injury: Placed on injured reserve

Sorokin (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, retroactive to Dec. 20.

Sorokin will miss his second consecutive game when the Islanders host the Rangers on Saturday and won't be available for Sunday's road matchup against the Blue Jackets. There is a chance he could return when the team visits Chicago on Tuesday, according to Andrew Gross of Newsday. Sorokin is 12-10-2 with three shutouts, a 2.55 GAA and a .910 save percentage across 24 appearances this season.
