2025 Fantasy Outlook
After years of dangling in trade rumors as a good goalie behind a bad team, Vejmelka upped his game in a contract season and earned an extension with the Mammoth. His five-year deal kicks in for 2025-26 after he posted a 26-22-8 record with a 2.58 GAA and a .904 save percentage in a career-high 58 games. The 29-year-old is among the good goalies in the NHL, especially with that kind of workload, but his numbers could still improve as the team in front of him continues to trend up. Vejmelka should be good for 50 games at a minimum, and if Utah takes the next step forward, he'll be a strong mid-to-late-round pick in fantasy. Read Past Outlooks
First goalie off Thursday
Vejmelka was the first goalie to leave the ice Thursday, Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports reports, indicating he'll guard the cage at home versus Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Vejmelka is riding a four-game winning streak during which he has posted a 1.49 GAA and .943 save percentage. The 29-year-old netminder currently leads the NHL with 21 wins, and his 35 starts trail only Nashville's Juuse Saros (36). At this rate, Vejmelka should be a lock for the 30-win threshold and should even push for 40. If he continues to rack up wins, Vejmelka could find himself receiving a Vezina Trophy nomination at the end of the year.

2022
Vejmelka looked like Utah's goalie of the future with a breakout 2022-23 showing, but he crashed to Earth in 2023-24, and his game seemed porous. There was even talk of waiving him. Vejmelka is a solid enough netminder, but with Connor Ingram's emergence, he's going to settle for the No. 2 role in Utah. The arrival of Mikhail Sergachev and John Marino on the team's blue line will help both goalies tremendously, so expect far better numbers for Vejmelka than his 3.35 GAA and .895 save percentage from last year. He could offer some depth fantasy value if he can force a platoon situation.
