Plucking apples
DVancouver Canucks  College
February 15, 2025
Willander has six assists in his last five games with Boston University.
ANALYSIS
Willander has two goals and 18 points through 27 NCAA appearances this season. The 20-year-old blueliner should surpass his 25-point freshman campaign from 2023-24, but he has been hot and cold offensively during his second college season. Vancouver chose Willander with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Contract negotiations picking up
DVancouver Canucks  College
March 27, 2025
Willander and the Canucks are reportedly close to signing an entry-level contract that would see the defenseman join the team this season, Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
As noted by Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK, Willander and the Canucks can't sign deal until after his collegiate season with Boston University wraps up -- though that could happen Thursday if the Terriers lose to Ohio State. In his 35 games for Boston this year, the 2023 first-round pick notched two goals and 20 helpers. If he does link up with Vancouver this season, Willander will burn the first year of his entry-level deal.
