2025 Fantasy Outlook
When Arvidsson joined Edmonton, there was some hope that he would put up big numbers while playing alongside Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl. Arvidsson did end up spending a solid amount of his even-strength minutes with Draisaitl, but rather than elevate his offensive numbers, the opposite happened. Arvidsson finished the regular season with 15 goals and 27 points across 67 appearances. It hurt that he served on the second power-play unit, which led to him getting just three points with the man advantage, but his 5-on-5 production wasn’t anything to write home about either. Arvidsson has recorded at least 59 points on three separate occasions, but that hasn’t happened since 2022-23, and he was dealt to Boston in the offseason, so it would be optimistic to expect a rebound this campaign. It would be better to pencil the 32-year-old in for 20-30 points instead. Read Past Outlooks
Draws helper in return
Arvidsson notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two PIM in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
Arvidsson had missed five games due to a lower-body injury, but he saw 14:34 of ice time in a second-line role in his return. Prior to his latest injury, he was rolling, and he's now earned a goal and four helpers over his last six outings. He's at 15 points, 67 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 26 contests, so he could have appeal as a scoring-only option in fantasy if he can avoid additional injuries.

As has been the case throughout his career, the injury bug bit Arvidsson in a major way last season. To his credit, he was a legitimate difference-maker when healthy, posting six goals and 15 points in 18 games. Still just 31 years old, Arvidsson entered unrestricted free agency this past summer and signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Oilers. It has the potential to be a massive steal for the club if Arvidsson can remain healthy. It also does a ton for his fantasy value, as the Swede seems likely to line up alongside either Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl on one of Edmonton's top two lines.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Heading East?
Arvidsson is reportedly being traded to Boston from Edmonton, Freelance reporter Irfaan Gaffar reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The Oilers are desperate for cap space, so trading Arvidsson and his $4 million cap hit will certainly help in that regard. For their part, the Bruins are adding a player with top-six potential, especially if the 32-year-old winger can play a full 82-game campaign. If he stays healthy, Arvidsson should be capable of reaching the 20-goal threshold after missing that mark in each of the previous two seasons.
