2025 Fantasy Outlook
DeBrincat led the Red Wings with 39 goals in 2024-25 and reached the 70-point plateau for the third time in his eight-year career. He also tied for second on the team with 29 power-play points. DeBrincat has developed chemistry with Dylan Larkin, Patrick Kane and Lucas Raymond over two seasons in Detroit. The 27-year-old DeBrincat was consistent offensively and hasn’t missed a game in four straight seasons. However, his physicality has dropped off in recent years, as he totaled 66 hits in 2023-24 and a career-low 33 hits in 2024-25 after topping 100 in each of the previous two seasons. However, his durability, high shot volume and scoring ability should result in another 65-70 point performance in 2025-26 and gives him a decent fantasy floor. Read Past Outlooks
Two goals in comeback win
DeBrincat tallied two power-play goals and fired six shots on net in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
DeBrincat was the hero for Detroit in Tuesday's contest, as he tallied two power-play goals to give the Wings 2-1 and 3-2 leads. He is up to 20 goals, 39 points and 122 shots on net through 34 games this season. Tuesday's performance brought him up to nine power-play goals, which ranks second in the NHL. The 27-year-old winger has been the engine at the core of Detroit's recent string of wins with six goals in his last four games; all of which came in three multi-goal performances. Since Nov. 13, he has 24 points, which is tied for eighth in the league with teammate Lucas Raymond. If DeBrincat plays in all 82 games this season, which he has in each of the past four seasons, he is on pace for 94 points, which would blow his current career high of 78 out of the water.

The move from Ottawa to Detroit and the opportunity to reunite with Patrick Kane didn't end up changing much for DeBrincat. After providing 27 goals and 66 points across 82 contests with Ottawa in 2022-23, the 26-year-old DeBrincat had 27 goals and 67 points in 82 outings last season as a member of the Red Wings. Armed with a four-year, $31.5 million contract that runs through 2026-27, DeBrincat will get the opportunity to play with the same squad in consecutive seasons for the first time since his tenure with Chicago from 2017-18 through 2021-22. That stability should do him some good. The fact that Kane decided to stick around doesn't hurt either as it almost guarantees DeBrincat will spend nearly all his even-strength ice time alongside at least one of Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond or Kane -- all high-end forwards for him to work with. Fantasy managers should regard 25 goals and 65 points as a minimum expectation from DeBrincat and draft him above other players in that range because he has the potential to record around 40 goals and 80 points when he's at his best.

Looking for return to 40-goal club
DeBrincat is setting his sights on the 40-goal mark in his debut season with the Red Wings, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A shifty top-line winger lauded for his tremendous hockey sense, DeBrincat, who happens to be a Michigan native, will sync up with fleet-footed captain Dylan Larkin in his debut campaign with the Wings. DeBrincat was a couple of tiers away from the elite class of forwards last season, having recorded 27 goals and 39 assists without missing a game for the Senators, though he did manage a career-best 30 power-play points. The last time DeBrincat reached 40 goals was in 2021-22, when he had 41 with the Blackhawks.
