2025 Fantasy Outlook
The blue-line youth movement is on in Chicago, and Levshunov, the second overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, stands to be a big part of it. The 19-year-old picked up six assists in an 18-game cup-of-coffee last season, and assuming all goes well in the preseason, he should lock down a top-four spot on the right side for this year. The potential is sky-high for the 6-foot-2 defenseman. He had 22 points in 52 games at AHL Rockford last year, pretty good numbers for a teenage defenseman, but how that translates to the NHL level remains to be seen. Based on the ice time and power-play time he is likely to get, Levshunov should be one of the top rookie defenseman options in fantasy, but there is certainly a wide variance in how his first full NHL campaign, if he sticks the whole season, will go. Breaks through for first goal
Levshunov scored a goal on three shots, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Wild.
ANALYSIS
In his 40th career game, Levshunov was finally able to find the twine for the first time. His goal gave the Blackhawks a 3-2 lead in the third period. The 20-year-old blueliner has showed plenty of potential with 12 points, 26 shots on net, 23 hits, 22 blocked shots, 14 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 22 outings this season. Levshunov's spot on the top power-play unit has helped him earn six helpers with the man advantage, and it's that role that should give him decent fantasy value this year.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Chosen with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, Chicago naturally has big hopes for Levshunov, but will he jump immediately into the top league? At the very least, Levshunov has decided to give it a shot after signing an entry-level contract with Chicago over the summer, ending his tenure with Michigan State University following a freshman campaign in which he recorded nine goals, 35 points and 44 PIM in 38 contests. Even at the age of 18, Levshunov wouldn't look out of place in the NHL given his size and strength. His skill level at both ends of the ice also provides plenty of cause for excitement. Still, Chicago might opt to be careful with his development by having him start in the AHL, especially because the Blackhawks already have a reasonably functional defensive corps going into the campaign. It would not be surprising, though, to see him make his NHL debut this season, even if he doesn't make the squad out of training camp. In the long run, he's got the potential to be a high-end No. 1 defenseman who features heavily on the power play.
