2025 Fantasy Outlook
Considering Halverson was out of hockey in 2021-22, it's impressive he was able to work all the way up to making his NHL debut last year. That journey took him through the German second-tier league as well as both the ECHL and AHL over the last two years. Halverson looked good for AHL Syracuse with a 22-11-7 record, a 2.22 GAA and a .915 save percentage over 43 regular-season games. Halverson's played earned him a two-year NHL contract in February, so he'll remain the Lightning's likely No. 3 goalie, with most of his action coming for Syracuse in 2025-26. Read Past Outlooks

Lands on waivers Friday
Halverson was placed on waivers by the Lightning on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Halverson made some starts for the Lightning during preseason play, but if he clears waivers, he'll head to AHL Syracuse for the start of the regular season. He's made just two regular-season appearances in the NHL during his career and will likely spend most of this year in the minors.

2014
Halverson is expected to be the starter for AHL Hartford this year, with Alexandar Georgiev graduating to the NHL as Henrik Lundqvist's backup. The 22-year-old Michigan native has faced six shots at the NHL level, allowing one goal. Halverson hasn't found much success while splitting time between the AHL and ECHL over the past two seasons, so he's in need of a lot more seasoning if he's ever going to make a significant impact at the game's highest level.

ANALYSIS
Halverson has just one game of NHL experience from back in 2017-18 when he was with the Rangers. In that outing, he secured the victory despite giving up one goal on six shots in relief. Until Jonas Johansson is cleared to return from a lower-body injury, Halverson figures to serve as the No. 2 option behind Andrei Vasilevskiy.
