2025 Fantasy Outlook
It was a tale of two halves for Saad in 2024-25, as he slipped out of the lineup with the Blues before mutually agreeing to a contract termination in January. He linked up with the Golden Knights for the rest of the season, and it was a good fit -- enough to have them sign him to a one-year deal for 2025-26. All told, Saad had 13 goals, 30 points and 127 shots on net over 72 regular-season contests between the two teams. He didn't get a lot of power-play time with Vegas, and if that doesn't change for the coming season, Saad's fantasy appeal will be limited. He should settle in around 35-40 points with decent shot totals, but the rest of his non-scoring production is limited, so he'll need to score his way into the picture in fantasy. Read Past Outlooks
Scores against former team
Saad scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Blues.
ANALYSIS
Saad's first goal of the season came against his former team. He's picking up the pace in November with three points over six outings this month. The 33-year-old winger has a goal, three assists, 26 shots on net and a plus-4 rating across 17 appearances. He's mainly played on the third line, so there's not much reason to think his offense will dramatically improve throughout the year.

Saad is coming off the seventh 20-goal season of his 13-year NHL career after racking up 26 goals and 16 assists in 82 regular-season outings for the Blues. Perhaps the concerning aspect of the 31-year-old winger's production last year was the minimal impact he had with the man advantage. Despite logging 1:40 of ice time per game with the man advantage, the Pittsburgh native secured just five power-play points (all goals). Heading into the 2024-25 campaign, Sadd should be in line for a top-six role but will likely have to stave off the likes of Mathieu Joseph, Alexei Toropchenko and Alexandre Texier to maintain his place that spot. Still, Saad should be able to manage 40-plus points this year, a mark he's hit in two of the last three seasons.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Poised to re-sign with Vegas
Saad, who ended the year with a lower-body injury, is expected to re-sign with the Golden Knights, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Saad was waived by the Blues and had his contract terminated in January before signing with the Golden Knights. He posted 14 points in 29 regular-season outings with Vegas, fitting in nicely as a middle-six winger, but he was limited to two assists over eight playoff games before exiting the lineup due to his injury. With Saad poised to sign just after Reilly Smith, it looks like the Golden Knights are taking care of business on their own free agents with just under a week until free agency opens.
