2025 Fantasy Outlook
Boeser reached the 40-goal mark in 2023-24, shattering his previous regular-season career high of 29 in 2017-18, but that jump came because his shooting percentage skyrocketed from 12.7 over the first seven years of his career to 19.6 in 2023-24. Boeser did a great job of creating scoring chances that year, which made a regression feel less inevitable. Even still, Boeser finished 2024-25 with 25 goals and 50 points across 75 appearances. Interestingly, his shooting percentage remained high at 17.2, but Boeser averaged just 6.4 shots per 60 minutes last season, the lowest rate of his career. In some ways, last season is more concerning than 2023-24 because there’s an argument to be made that he regressed despite positive puck luck. Boeser is capable of good results, but after the weirdness of last year, he’s a roll of the dice. Read Past Outlooks
Scores late in loss
Boeser scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Devils.
ANALYSIS
Boeser netted a goal with 1:12 left in the third period, but the Canucks couldn't find another to even the score. He's put up three goals and an assist over his last five outings. We've seen some bursts of offense from Boeser this season, but they've rarely lasted longer than a couple of weeks. He's at 12 goals, 25 points, 109 shots on net and a minus-30 rating across 49 appearances despite seeing regular top-six minutes.

2017
Boeser has served in a top-six capacity for years, but throughout most of his career, his offensive numbers have been steady, but not great. From 2017-18 through 2022-23, the Canucks forward finished each full season in the range of 18-29 goals and 46-56 points. That changed last season with him jumping to 40 goals to go along with his more expected 33 assists. His shooting percentage stood at 19.6 in 2023-24 -- nearly double his 2022-23 finish of 10.1 and way above his career average of 13.8. That's a big warning sign, but he did a better job of creating scoring chances, so at least some of that jump was earned. If he can continue to put himself in strong positions like he did last year, then his decline in goals might be far milder than some might expect.

Boeser has three goals in five outings this year. Once he's healthy, he will see time in the top six and occupy a role on the first power-play combination.
