Despite not getting much playing time in 2024-25, Fleury signed a two-year extension with the Kraken in June to once again serve as an extra defenseman. He's been fine in that role, stepping in for third-pairing minutes whenver injuries necessitate his presence in the lineup. Fleury was limited to one assist, 16 shots on net, 30 hits and 28 blocked shots over 14 appearances last season and added 26 points in 39 regular-season outings for AHL Coachella Valley. Fleury is at the bottom of the depth chart with Seattle carrying eight blueliners, so it doesn't look like he'll have a clear path to playing time any time soon. He could be a candidate for a conditioning loan in the AHL at some point if the Kraken don't want to risk losing Fleury on waivers.

Fleury was likely more familiar to press-box ushers than Seattle fans in 2022-23 -- he played in just 12 games with the Kraken last year, earning one assist. He was never sent down to AHL Coachella Valley during the campaign, but all that sitting is far from good for a young defenseman's development. Fleury has no obvious path to playing time in 2023-24 either, and with Ryker Evans making an emphatic statement in his first AHL season, it's very possible Fleury could get passed on the depth chart. Fantasy managers need not concern themselves with Fleury on draft day.
