2025 Fantasy Outlook
The goal-scoring capabilities of Sillinger have yet to completely translate to the NHL. After an 11-goal campaign that also saw him dish out 22 assists, the 22-year-old now has just 43 goals in 286 career games. The most concerning part is his shooting percentage last year was just 8.5 percent, not far off from his career average of 8.2 percent. Approaching 300 NHL games now, that’s starting to become too large of a sample size to just attribute to bad luck. It’s a pivotal point in the young center’s career to prove he has some finishing ability at the NHL level. Sillinger sees time on the power play and flashes some playmaking ability that will allow him to pick up assists, but currently in a third-line role, he will need to discover his goal-scoring touch to truly break out into the player he was drafted to be. Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
2022
Selected with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Sillinger was able to jump straight from the USHL to the NHL in 2021-22, but he hasn't become an impact player at the top level. He has 32 goals and 74 points through 220 career NHL contests, including 13 goals and 32 points across 77 games in 2023-24. While he did set a career high in points last season, he was averaging 16:07 of ice time, up from 13:32 over his first two campaigns, so it's somewhat disappointing that he didn't do more with those increased responsibilities. Still, he's just 21 years old, so there's a lot of time left for him to come into his own. Pencil him in for about 40 points, and take him earlier than others in that production range due to his upside.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might re-sign soon
Sillinger, who is a restricted free agent, might sign a new contract in a day or two, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports Monday.
ANALYSIS
Sillinger is coming off his entry-level contract. Portzline was previously told that Sillinger's new deal would be a two-year agreement, but it's possible that the terms might have changed. The 21-year-old forward had 13 goals, 32 points, 46 PIM, 74 blocked shots and 119 hits in 77 contests with the Blue Jackets last season. The 21-year-old has untapped offensive upside and might begin the upcoming campaign in a middle-six role.
