2025 Fantasy Outlook
Brown left something to be desired in 2023-24, recording just four goals and 12 points across 71 regular-season appearances, but he rebounded in the last campaign with 13 goals and 30 points in 82 regular-season outings. After those two seasons in Edmonton, Brown will take his services to New Jersey and look to continue to provide secondary scoring. However, the Devils are deep enough that Brown is likely to play primarily on the fourth line. He’ll have his moments, but don’t expect him to finish 2025-26 with more than 20-30 points. Two goals help lead way
Brown scored twice in a 5-3 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Brown has always shown flashes of offense, but he's lacked consistency. His best season came in Ottawa in 2019-20 when he put up 16 goals and 27 assists in 71 games. Brown is playing a bottom-six role in New Jersey, so his fantasy value is limited. However, he could offer deep help and step up the lineup in the event of an injury.

Signed to a one-year, $4 million contract prior to last season, Brown rewarded the Oilers with four goals and 12 points in 71 games. He scored just once in his first 55 games. Brown was marginally better in the postseason with six points in 19 appearances. With the club holding all the leverage this time around, Brown had to settle for a one-year, $1 million contract to return to Edmonton. The 30-year-old shouldn't be guaranteed a spot in the Opening Night lineup, and even if he is, Brown is easily moveable given the small monetary commitment the Oilers handed him.

ANALYSIS
Brown spent the last two seasons with the Oilers on a pair of one-year contracts. He had a bad 2023-24 campaign with only four goals and eight assists across 71 regular-season appearances. Brown improved last season with 13 goals and 30 points, playing the full 82-game regular season but is a bottom-six forward at best in the NHL. He did manage five goals and four assists in 20 playoff games in 2025, but after a hot start against the Kings and in Game 1 versus Vegas, he had just one goal and two assists in his final 13 contests.
