2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hellebuyck has been one of the most reliable goalies in fantasy for years, and 2024-25 was no different. In fact, it was a career year for the American netminder, who went 47-12-3 with a 2.00 GAA and a .925 save percentage over 63 games, helping the Jets to the Presidents' Trophy. Hellebuyck once again struggled in the playoffs, but that's not a concern in fantasy -- although the Jets could eventually pivot to working in more rest for him to keep him fresher late in the season. In any case, there's a good chance Hellebuyck will be one of the first two goalies off the board in most fantasy drafts, and he'll likely command a pick within the first two rounds. Even at 32 years old, Hellebuyck is one of the safest picks between the pipes. Read Past Outlooks

Beaten five times Thursday
Hellebuyck stopped 32 of 37 shots in Thursday's loss to the Stars.
ANALYSIS
The reigning Hart and Vezina Trophy winner failed to make a big impact in this season opener, allowing five goals en route to a loss. To put things into context, Hellebuyck only allowed five or more goals seven times throughout the entire 2024-25 campaign. Fantasy managers should continue to trust Hellebuyck even if this wasn't the start of the season many hoped for. His next chance to play will come against the Kings on Saturday.

On his way to the Vezina Trophy, Hellebuyck once again reached the 60-games mark while also matching his 37-win total from last season. His 2.39 GAA is the best he's posted since 2017-18 when he also reached the 40-win mark for the only time in his career. In addition, the 31-year-old backstop was also able to register five shutouts this past year. While the regular season may have been one of Hellebuyck's best, most will only remember his disastrous postseason in which he conceded 24 goals on 177 shots for a .864 save percentage and 1-4 record versus Colorado. The Jets lost Laurent Brossoit in the offseason, so they may be forced to utilize Hellebuyck even more, with Eric Comrie or Kaapo Kahkonen to slot in as backup. Either way, Hellebuyck can be counted on to play 60-plus games and to rack up plenty of victories along the way.
