Dakota Joshua

Dakota Joshua

28-Year-Old Left WingLW
Vancouver Canucks
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Joshua established himself as a regular in the NHL during the 2022-23 campaign and set new career highs last season with 18 goals and 32 points across 63 regular-season contests. Although he's a late bloomer, the Michigan native is 28 years old, so further growth shouldn't be anticipated. Unfortunately, Joshua underwent surgery for testicular cancer during the offseason and won't be ready at the start of the campaign. In other words, don't expect him to finish above the 30-40 point range this season. Joshua is a gritty forward, though, which gives him some added versatility in fantasy leagues. Read Past Outlooks

Nets shortie in loss
LWVancouver Canucks
March 1, 2025
Joshua scored a shorthanded goal on three shots and added three hits in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Kraken.
ANALYSIS
Joshua gave the Canucks a 3-2 lead in the second period with his shortie, but the Kraken tied it just 4:03 later and took the lead for good a minute after that. With two points over his last three games, Joshua looks to be finding his way on offense. It helps that he was promoted to the top line for Saturday's contest, but the Canucks' wingers have been shuffled all over the lineup lately in an effort to find effective lines. The 28-year-old is now at four goals, seven points, 21 shots, 118 hits, 22 PIM and a minus-9 rating across 35 appearances.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Joshua finally saw steady playing time and made the most of it with 11 goals, 12 assists, 222 hits, 71 shots on goal and 60 PIM in 79 games for the Canucks last year. The 27-year-old's playing style doesn't lend itself to much more than a third-line role, but he could hit his way into relevance. Joshua's 15.5 shooting percentage is sure to drop in 2023-24, so there's a chance he could top out at 20 points -- that's a mark that will likely leave him on the waiver wire in most fantasy formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Poised to play Thursday
LWVancouver Canucks
November 14, 2024
Joshua looks set to play in Thursday's matchup with the Islanders, making his season debut after undergoing surgery for testicular cancer in the offseason, Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK reports.
ANALYSIS
Joshua's imminent return is seemingly coming at the expense of Arshdeep Bains, who was not recalled from the minors ahead of Thursday's tilt. Last season, the 28-year-old Joshua set career highs with 18 goals and 32 points in 63 regular-season contests and should still be capable of getting back over the 30-point threshold this year if he can avoid any significant injuries.
