By usage, DeMelo was a top-four defenseman for the Jets in 2022-23, and he responded with a career-high 27 points in 75 contests. He mostly paired with Josh Morrissey at even strength -- a great assignment considering Morrissey's breakout campaign. DeMelo can chip in 100-plus hits and blocked shots per year, but he's far from a lock to avoid injuries, making him no guarantee to return to the 20-point mark this season. That limits his fantasy value to deeper formats, and there may be higher-scoring options available in the late rounds of those drafts anyway.
