2025 Fantasy Outlook
Strome's time in Washington has been well spent. After setting new personal bests in 2022-23 and 2023-24 with 65 and 67 points, respectively, Strome reached even higher last season with 29 goals and 82 points across 82 regular-season outings. His uptick in success was due to a combination of production with the man advantage - a career-high 34 points, a high shooting percentage of 19.5 and playing alongside a record-chasing Alex Ovechkin. Strome factored in on 23 of Ovechkin's goals this year. The question is whether he can do it again. His high shooting percentage is a bit of a red flag, and it's hard to know how much more Ovechkin has left in the tank at the age of 40, which might in turn diminish the quality of Strome's linemates. The 28-year-old Strome isn't likely to collapse, but he might end up slipping back to the 60-70 point range. Read Past Outlooks
Three helpers against Habs
Strome pocketed three assists, two on the power play, in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old center had a hand in two of Alex Ovechkin's three goals on the night, helping the future Hall of Famer to his 33rd career hat trick. Strome has put together a productive November alongside his illustrious linemate, delivering three goals and 10 points in 10 games after missing the last couple contests in October with a lower-body injury.

The move to Washington has done Strome some good. After joining the Capitals in 2022-23, Strome set career highs with 23 goals and 65 points then followed that up by supplying 27 goals and 67 points across 82 outings last season. At the age of 27, he's at the prime of his career, but there is still reason to fear a mild regression. Strome will have to battle offseason trade acquisition Pierre-Luc Dubois for the top center job, and that's a fight Strome isn't guaranteed to win. The Capitals lack offensive depth, so the difference between being the first and second-line center is significant. With that in mind, consider about 25 goals and 65 points as the best Strome can do, and factor in the possibility that he could realistically miss those marks by around five goals and 10 points even if he stays healthy.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be headed for IR
Strome, who suffered a lower-body injury against the Senators on Saturday, might be designated for injured reserve, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports Monday.
ANALYSIS
Strome's status hasn't been confirmed by the Capitals, but the team brought up Ethen Frank from the minors without a corresponding move -- a sign that Strome could land on injured reserve. If that's the case, the veteran center will miss at least the next three games, a move that would likely see Pierre-Luc Dubois shift up to the first line.
