2025 Fantasy Outlook
Defensemen can take longer to develop than forwards, and fourth-round picks are also usually long-term projects, so the fact that George was able to get a significant amount of NHL work in his first pro season was a surprise. Still, he didn’t make headlines, finishing 2024-25 with a goal, five points, six PIM, 26 shots, 14 hits and 34 blocks across 33 outings with the Islanders. He did add another 14 points in 33 regular-season appearances with AHL Bridgeport, but George isn’t likely to develop into a major offensive contributor at the NHL level. He might be able to make the team’s Opening Night roster, but it’s more likely that he’ll start 2025-26 in the minors. If that happens, look for the 21-year-old to be among the first promotions whenever the Islanders need a blueliner. Read Past Outlooks
Collects three points
George scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Bridgeport's 5-1 win over Hartford on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
George has battled injuries a couple of times this season, with his three points Sunday representing his first contribution since Dec. 13. He's now at two goals and six helpers over 21 appearances. The Islanders have plenty of blue-line depth at the NHL level, so the 21-year-old George is likely to spend most of the campaign working on his development.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely headed to minors
George has reportedly been removed from the islanders' official roster, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com, indicating he is being sent down to AHL Bridgeport.
ANALYSIS
George appeared to have survived Sunday's big cut-down day but evidently will be heading down to the minors to open the season. If that's the case, it would appear the Isles are going to roll with seven defensemen on the roster for Opening Night versus the Penguins on Thursday, with Adam Boqvist having secured the last blue-line roster spot.
