Drury was sent to the minors Monday, but per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site, he was recalled by the Hurricanes on Tuesday morning, putting him on track to remain in the lineup for the evening's matchup with New Jersey.

It appears as though Drury's trip to the minors Monday was just a cap-saving transaction for Carolina. Drury will likely remain in the Hurricanes' lineup until Sebastian Aho, who's been sidelined with a lower-body injury, is ready to return.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Drury made his NHL debut in 2021-22, appearing in two games for the Hurricanes. He scored a goal in each, putting him on pace for 82 over the course of a full year. That would obviously never happen, but Drury's production in the AHL -- 20 goals and 52 points in 68 games -- shows his offensive abilities are legitimate. The question at this point is whether Carolina will be comfortable with placing him in a bottom-six role. Drury is just 22 years old and the Hurricanes may prefer he get top-line minutes in the minors as opposed to marginal playing time in the NHL in 2022-23. It's a situation to monitor in training camp.
