Bernard-Docker missed a chunk of the 2024-25 campaign due to an ankle injury, but he also wasn’t always utilized when healthy, resulting in him finishing with two goals, eight points, 17 PIM, 32 shots, 30 hits and 50 blocks across 40 regular-season outings between Ottawa and Buffalo. Now with Detroit, Bernard-Docker will be in the mix for a third-pairing spot, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he ends up finding himself moving in and out of the lineup. 2024 Fantasy Outlook
A first-round pick (26th overall) in 2018, Bernard-Docker was a regular for the first time for the Senators a season ago, appearing in 72 of 82 regular-season games. He managed just four goals and 14 points, although Bernard-Docker did add 62 hits and 156 blocked shots. Set to play the entirety of this upcoming season at age 24, JBD seems likely to battle veteran Travis Hamonic for a spot on Ottawa's third defensive pairing to begin the year. The winner will have zero fantasy appeal.
