2025 Fantasy Outlook
Harkins wasn't a regular for the Ducks in 2024-25, and it's safe to assume that won't change in 2025-26. The 28-year-old earned just six points in 63 appearances while adding 136 hits, 41 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating as a bottom-six forward. Harkins does a lot of the grunt work when in the lineup, and that has value on the ice, as it allows the Ducks' prospects some room to grow in a more prominent role. Don't expect Harkins to do much better than 10 points this season, and that's assuming he still plays regularly. Read Past Outlooks

Officially on injured reserve
Harkins (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Harkins' move to IR is simply a formality, as he is expected to be out until late November at a minimum. Once healthy, he should be able to enter the mix for a fourth-line spot, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him get waived or end up as a healthy scratch.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2020
Harkins recorded four assists, 21 PIM and 74 hits across 45 contests with Pittsburgh last season while averaging 8:12 of ice time. He has shown offensive capabilities at the AHL level, recording 62 points in 58 contests over the past two years, but whenever he's in the NHL, he's strictly deployed as a physical, bottom-six forward. That's the role the 27-year-old is expected to continue to serve after signing a two-year, $1.575 million contract with Anaheim over the summer. He might play more regularly with the rebuilding Ducks than in Pittsburgh, but Harkins should still be penciled in to record under 10 points.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Set to join Ducks
Harkins is working toward a two-year contract with Anaheim, Sean Reynolds of Sportsnet reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Harkins played in 45 regular-season games for the Penguins last season but failed to find the back of the net. In fact, the 27-year-old center averaged less than a shot per game, putting up 37 shots in those 45 outings. Given his limited offensive upside, few fantasy players will be tracking where he lands ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
