2025 Fantasy Outlook
Megna had no points in just eight outings with Florida during the 2024-25 regular season, instead spending the bulk of the campaign with AHL Charlotte, where he recorded two goals and 16 points in 64 appearances. Now with Vegas on a two-year deal, the 32-year-old might squeak onto the Golden Knights’ Opening Night roster, but even if he makes the team, it would probably just be as the seventh defenseman. What’s more likely is that he starts the season in the minors and gets a stint or two in the NHL during the season, depending on the Golden Knights’ injury luck. Read Past Outlooks
Brought up from minors
Megna was summoned from AHL Henderson on Monday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Megna has two goals and three assists in 15 minor-league outings this season. He will provide Vegas with a depth defender and could travel with the team on its upcoming five-game road trip, which begins against New Jersey on Friday.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2018
Megna had it good early in 2022-23, racking up 12 points over 48 games with the Sharks and occasionally riding shotgun during part of Erik Karlsson's historic campaign. In February, Megna was dealt to the Kraken, where he failed to record a point in six appearances while serving as a spare defenseman. The 30-year-old blueliner may have to settle for a similar role in 2023-24, as the Kraken signed Brian Dumoulin to presumably work in a third-pairing role. Megna's unlikely to see more than bottom-four minutes when he is in the lineup, though he could also lose his roster spot if Ryker Evans impresses the Seattle brass in training camp.

Set to debut with Hawks
Megna is expected to make his debut with Chicago against the Rangers on Thursday, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Megna will play in his first NHL game this season after failing to crack the lineup for the Canucks before being designated for waivers and claimed by the Hawks. With Chicago, the 2012 seventh-round pick will finally get into the lineup and might partner with Alex Vlasic.
