ANALYSIS
Struble was a healthy scratch for the first four games of the year. There's now room for both him and Arber Xhekaj in the lineup while Kaiden Guhle (lower body) is expected to be out for over a month. Struble is a physical and agitating defenseman who has recorded at least 50 PIM and 120 hits in each of his first two seasons despite playing just 56 regular-season games in each year. He doesn't have a high ceiling on offense, but he could improve in that area if he gets consistent ice time.

A former standout at Northeastern University, Struble was in the lineup for the Canadiens more often than not last season. He appeared in 56 games, managing three goals, 10 points, 47 shots on goal, 121 hits and 53 blocks. Struble was never a big point producer going back to his collegiate days, with his high being 14 points in his junior year. Set to play the entirety of this upcoming season at age 23, Struble is set to battle the likes of Jordan Harris, Justin Barron and Arber Xhekaj for a spot on Montreal's third defensive pair.
