Greaves' NHL action was limited in 2024-25, but he appears to have done just enough at the right time of the season to make a lasting impression since the Jackets shipped Daniil Tarasov to Florida. For his part, Greaves went 7-2-2 with a 1.91 GAA and a .938 save percentage over 11 games, including winning five straight to close out the regular season with both of his shutouts for the year. He also went 21-11-6 with a 2.62 GAA and a .920 save percentage in 40 games with AHL Cleveland. Elvis Merzlikins is far from a lock to remain in the starter role for long. However, he regained his composure and stood tall, even when the Bolts pulled their goalie with more than five minutes remaining in the game. Greaves has won his last four starts, but we're watching the Columbus net. Head coach Rick Bowness is giving both Greaves and Elvis Merzlikins equal opportunity to earn time in net. Greaves is doing his part to push Elvis off the throne entirely, but the next little while could be messy for starts for both men.
