Jiri Kulich

21-Year-Old CenterC
2025 Fantasy Outlook
After a brief taste of the NHL in 2023-24, Kulich logged 62 games with Buffalo last season, recording 15 goals, 24 points, 18 PIM, 134 shots and 40 hits while averaging 14:48 of ice time. It wasn’t exactly a standout showing for the No. 28 overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, especially after he recorded 51 goals and 91 points in 119 regular-season AHL appearances over the prior two campaigns. It was also a little disappointing for Kulich to be held without a power-play point with Buffalo in 2024-25 despite averaging a decent 1:25 per game with the man advantage. Still, he turned only 21 on April 14, so we shouldn’t be too hard on him. The upside is there, as is the potential for him to take a major step forward in 2025-26. Just keep in mind that he’s a high-risk play. Read Past Outlooks

Kulich (undisclosed) participated in Tuesday's practice and should play in Wednesday's preseason game versus Pittsburgh, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kulich had been day-to-day since Thursday after tweaking a muscle. He produced 15 goals, 24 points and 134 shots on net across 62 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. Kulich will probably occupy a middle-six role with the Sabres this campaign.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Taken with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, Kulich got his first taste of NHL action when he registered a shot and a hit over 14:53 of ice time Nov. 25, but where he really turned some heads last season was in the AHL. He provided 45 points, including a team-high 27 goals, in 57 outings with Rochester. The 20-year-old is entering training camp with a shot of making the Sabres' Opening Night roster, and even if he falls short of that position, it wouldn't be surprising to see Kulich end up with the Sabres at some point during 2024-25 as an injury replacement.

Might return Tuesday
CBuffalo Sabres
March 25, 2025
Kulich might play Tuesday versus Ottawa after missing four straight games due to a concussion, per Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald.
ANALYSIS
Kulich has 12 goals and 19 points in 49 appearances in 2024-25. The Sabres are expected to be without Jordan Greenway, Sam Lafferty and Josh Norris due to lower body, groin and undisclosed injuries, respectively, so if Kulich is out too, then Buffalo would either need to recall a forward from the minors or dress seven defensemen.
