2025 Fantasy Outlook
Martinook missed a few games for the first time in three seasons but enjoyed his best all-around offensive campaign of his career. He scored 15 goals, added 21 assists and posted a plus-16 rating, all of which set or matched career highs. The shots on goal were way down from prior years, but the 32-year-old was more efficient with them by converting at a 13.4 percent rate, up from 8.7 percent over the previous two years combined. He plays a valuable role as a shutdown forward and works on the penalty kill, but not on the power play. As a result, the potential for further offensive improvements is limited, so a season around 30 points, like he’s had for three straight years, is a good expectation. Read Past Outlooks

Slides helper Thursday
Martinook notched an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Devils.
ANALYSIS
Martinook is back in his usual third-line role alongside Jordan Staal and William Carrier. While that trio won't get accolades for offense, they're among the top shutdown forwards in the league, providing a steady defensive backbone for head coach Rod Brind'Amour. Martinook did pretty well last year with a career-high 36 points in 79 regular-season contests. The 33-year-old can also chip in roughly a hit per game, so there's some value here in deep fantasy formats as long as his offense doesn't hit a steep decline.

Martinook supplied 14 goals and 32 points in 82 regular-season appearances with Carolina in 2023-24, roughly matching his 2022-23 finish of 13 goals and 34 points. Primarily a bottom-six forward, that's about as good as it gets for Martinook. He's also 32 years old now, so there isn't any upside to be had. The Manitoba native can also provide 30-50 PIM and 60-80 hits to give him a little extra versatility, but his fantasy value remains limited.
