2025 Fantasy Outlook
From a production standpoint, Anderson had a season in line with the last five of his career. He scored 15 goals and added 12 assists for 27 points; he’s been between 20 and 32 points each of the last five seasons. The issue is the 31-year-old’s shot volume was way down, finishing with the fewest shots on goal (109) in his career in a season in which he played more than 30 games. Furthermore, his PIM went up, his ice time went down and his power-play time was virtually eliminated. The physical winger is shifting roles from a top-six winger in previous years to more of a physical, tone-setting middle-six option as the Canadiens ascend as a team. He should still be good for at least 20 points in the 2025-26 season, but an increased focus on physicality and less power-play time greatly lowers his ceiling. Read Past Outlooks

Following consecutive 32-point campaigns, Anderson struggled last season, finishing with a mere 20 points in 78 appearances for the Canadiens. He had just nine goals, the second-lowest goal total of the winger's career, with his only worse season coming back in 2019-20 when injuries limited him to just one goal in 26 contests. While a bounce-back season for Anderson can't be ruled out, the emergence of youngsters like Juraj Slafkovsky and Cole Caufield figures to keep Anderson relegated to a bottom-six role with limited power-play opportunities. As such, his primary fantasy value may come in the form of hits -- he had 168 of them last year.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Not expected to be available
The Canadiens are likely to hold onto Anderson, per TSN.ca.
ANALYSIS
Anderson has 14 goals and five assists, as well as 100 hits, through 49 games this season. The Canadiens clearly believe the 28-year-old can help them throughout their rebuild, and keeping him around long-term is more valuable than a potential trade return would be.
