Joshua Roy

21-Year-Old CenterC
2024 Fantasy Outlook
A former QMJHL scoring champion, Roy turned pro last season and made an immediate impact. He had 13 goals and 42 points in 41 AHL games, adding four goals and nine points in 23 games with Montreal before an upper-body injury ended his year in March. Roy's ability to serve as a secondary source of scoring for the Habs was notable given the fact he averaged less than a minute (0:58) worth of power-play ice time. Originally a fifth-round pick of the Canadiens in 2021, Roy, who will play the entirety of the upcoming season at age 20, should be in the mix for a middle-six role for Montreal out of training camp. Roy has recovered from his upper-body injury and was sent to AHL Laval on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Roy hasn't played since March 19 due to the injury. He had four goals and nine points in 23 contests with the Canadiens this campaign. Montreal's season is done, so Roy will get the chance to see additional action in the minors. The 20-year-old has already supplied 13 goals and 32 points in 40 appearances with Laval in 2023-24.
