Logan Cooley

Logan Cooley

20-Year-Old CenterC
Utah Hockey Club
2024 Fantasy Outlook
It was an outstanding rookie campaign for Cooley, as he suited up in all 82 regular-season games for the Coyotes. He earned 20 goals and 24 assists, including 13 power-play points, to go with 151 shots on goal, 50 hits and 27 blocked shots. In the end, the center finished the year fourth in the rookie points standings, just missing out on being a Calder Trophy finalist behind eventual winner Connor Bedard, Brock Faber and Luke Hughes. The upcoming 2024-25 campaign could feel like a second rookie year for the 20-year-old Cooley as the team moves to Utah and its new digs at the Delta Center. Assuming the Pittsburgh native takes another step in his development, he is more than capable of improving upon his rookie numbers, making him a top-end fantasy target - though the threat of a sophomore slump is certainly still on the table. Sends power-play helper
CUtah Hockey Club
January 29, 2025
Cooley logged a power-play assist, three shots on net and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
Cooley had gone three games without a point entering Wednesday. The 20-year-old center snapped the short slump by assisting on Mikhail Sergachev's first-period tally. Cooley is now at 43 points (16 on the power play), 110 shots on net, 36 hits, 24 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 50 appearances. He should be a consistent producer more often than not as long as he continues to fill a top-line role.

The Golden Knights play four times this week, including two meetings with St. Louis' 27th-ranked penalty kill, so picking up Pavel Dorofeyev is a great short-option for goals this week.
2023 Fantasy Outlook
After one season at the University of Minnesota, Cooley signed his entry-level deal with Arizona this offseason. He made the most of that lone collegiate campaign, racking up 22 goals and 60 points in 39 games, resulting in a top-three finish for the Hobey Baker Award. The 19-year-old also tallied seven goals and 14 points at the World Juniors this year. As one of the top prospects in hockey, Cooley is expected to jump straight into NHL action to begin the 2023-24 campaign. Given the state of the Coyotes' roster, he'll likely see top-six minutes early on. His ceiling will be limited due to his supporting cast, but Cooley will make an immediate fantasy impact upon his debut.

Expected to play Saturday
CArizona Coyotes
December 22, 2023
Cooley is expected to play Saturday after he was hit hard into the boards Thursday versus San Jose, according to Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.
ANALYSIS
Cooley had to be helped off the ice but he quickly returned without missing a shift. Cooley has three goals and 17 points in 32 games and could be a finalist for the Calder Trophy, although barring a serious injury, it looks like Connor Bedard is a shoo-in for the award.
