Lower Body
September 21, 2025
Head coach Patrick Roy said after Sunday's preseason game against the Flyers that Aitcheson is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Aitcheson exited Sunday's exhibition after taking a hard hit from Noah Juulsen. However, Roy said that Aitcheson is "fine," so it seems unlikely that the issue will impact the defenseman's availability for the start of the regular season. Whether Aitcheson will be able to suit up in Tuesday's preseason game against the Devils remains to be seen.

Not signing ELC
DNew York Islanders  Juniors
August 8, 2025
Aitcheson said Friday that he will not sign an entry-level contract with the Islanders before the start of the season, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Aitcheson stated that he will not be going to an American college Thursday, but he is leaving the door open for next season to do so by not signing with New York. The defenseman, who was selected 17th overall in the June Draft, had 26 goals and 33 assists across 64 regular-season games for OHL Barrie in 2024-25. He will get a lot more ice time with Barrie than he would at the NCAA level next season, likely a huge contributing factor in staying with the Colts.
