2024 Fantasy Outlook
A relative unknown heading into 2023-24, MacLean established himself as a reliable bottom-six forward with nine points in 32 regular-season games with the Islanders, becoming a permanent part of the lineup in late February. He was able to turn that into a three-year deal to stay with the Islanders going forward, albeit on a league-minimum salary that makes it easy to send him back to the AHL if he doesn't replicate his results. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much of the 25-year-old center -- a likely fourth-line role on a defense-first team is far from attractive, but he could push for the 20-point mark and add over 100 hits if he plays in the NHL all year.
