MacEachern had a decent 2019-20 campaign with 10 points and 82 hits in 51 contests, but that didn't stop the Blues from signing Kyle Clifford to take on a similar fourth-line role in 2020-21. MacEachern now projects as a fairly regular figure in the press box, although his tough playing style and 6-foot-2 frame could come in handy if head coach Craig Berube wants a bigger lineup. Fantasy managers likely wouldn't have spent a pick on MacEachern even if he was guaranteed an everyday role, so the uncertainty surrounding his role will make him undraftable.
