Olivier achieved new personal bests in goals (18), assists (14), points (32), PIM (139), shots on goal (111), blocked shots (80) and hits (306) across 82 games in 2024-25. His all-around play and toughness helped him secure a six-year, $18 million contract extension with the Blue Jackets in March. Olivier topped the league with 15 major penalties while ranking second in the NHL in PIM and hits. Olivier cracked the scoresheet after being held without a point across his previous six games, and the last time he did so, he notched four points in a 6-3 victory over the Maple Leafs on Oct. 29. Olivier has proven he can produce when given enough playing time, but his bottom-six role, and the inconsistencies he's had on a game-to-game basis, have limited his upside. He's not a player worth targeting in most formats due to the inconsistency of his production.

Olivier is a fourth-line forward who has some fantasy relevancy in certain situations thanks to his gritty play. He finished the 2023-24 campaign with five goals, 12 points, 70 PIM and 163 hits across 54 contests with the Blue Jackets. He has one season left on his two-year, $2.2 million contract and is expected to serve in largely the same role again this year. That should lead to him once again recording over 60 PIM and 150 hits, but he's unlikely to do too much offensively.
