2025 Fantasy Outlook
Jones recorded a goal, two points, 18 PIM and 71 hits in 26 regular-season games between Boston and Edmonton in 2024-25 before being a healthy scratch for the entirety of the Oilers’ playoff run. Looking ahead to the upcoming campaign, the 27-year-old has a solid chance of making Edmonton’s NHL roster as an extra forward. Jones will likely be plugged into the fourth line on occasion and should be a solid source of hits when that happens, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he ends up logging under 40 games. Tallies first point this season
Jones distributed an assist, placed three shots on net and dished out two hits in Thursday's 3-1 win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Jones ricocheted a shot off Boston netminder Jeremy Swayman that led to Jones' new linemate, Quinn Hutson, scoring on the rebound for his first NHL goal. With the helper, Jones notched his first point of the season to go along with three shots on goal, six hits and a block through two games. His ice time has been held to less than six minutes in each of his two outings, capping his offensive potential from a checking-line role for the Oilers. When he does play, he offers a nice blend of category coverage stats, given the small sample size.

Jones signed a two-year, $2 million contract with Boston in July after the Ducks decided not to tender him a qualifying offer. He registered five goals, 15 points, 76 shots on net and 125 hits in 52 games last season. He missed the final 11 contests due to a sprained shoulder, but he will be ready for training camp. After being selected with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, the 26-year-old Jones only has 31 tallies and 62 points across 258 career contests. If he manages to secure a bottom-six role with the Bruins and stays relatively healthy, he could reach the 20-point plateau for the first time while topping 100 hits and 100 shots.
