2025 Fantasy Outlook
Daws' current contract becomes a one-way deal in 2025-26, and while that doesn't guarantee him an NHL job, it makes it more expensive for the Devils to keep him at AHL Utica. Daws has 52 games of NHL experience under his belt over the last four years, though he saw just six appearances in 2024-25 after logging 21 games the year before. The Devils could still bring in a goalie to compete with Daws for the backup job, especially since his 3.16 GAA and .893 save percentage in 34 AHL outings was a bit underwhelming. Jacob Markstrom will be the Devils' starter, so don't expect a lot of playing time for Daws even if he's a full-time NHLer this season. Read Past Outlooks
Earns first shutout of AHL season
Daws posted a 19-save shutout in AHL Utica's 3-0 win over Belleville on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Daws has gone 2-2-0 with a 1.51 GAA and a .942 save percentage over four games with Utica. He also won his lone NHL appearance while with the Devils during the absence of Jacob Markstrom, who battled a lower-body injury in October. Daws is brimming with potential should he get another extended look in the NHL at some point despite bumpy numbers over the last two AHL campaigns.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
In starter's crease
Daws was in the starter's crease at morning skate Thursday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports, indicating he will likely get the home start versus Florida.
ANALYSIS
Daws was recalled from the minors Wednesday as Jacob Markstrom is out of action for 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury and Jake Allen came out of Monday's tilt versus Columbus due to cramping. This is a golden opportunity for the 24-year-old Daws, who was 3-1-0 with a 1.60 GAA and a .939 save percentage across six NHL appearances in 2024-25.
